As the prayer bus is starting to roll around this great land of ours, I'd like to counter today's attack with thoughts and energies to the great state of Alaska! "Becoming a state in 1959, Alaska accounts for the majority of the salmon, crab, halibut, and herring for the US. Alaska is the United State's largest state and is over twice the size of Texas. Measuring from north to south the state is approximately 1,400 miles long and measuring from east to west it is 2,700 miles wide. The state's coastline extends over 6,600 miles.The Tongass National Forest is the largest national forest in the United States. Alaska's name is based on the Eskimo word Alakshak meaning great lands or peninsula. In 1915 the record high temperature in Alaska was 100 degrees Fahrenheit at Fort Yukon; the record low temperature was -80 degrees Fahrenheit at Prospect Creek Camp in 1971. "

The native religion there would be considered Pagan by today's society. The traditional religion was animistic, which is a belief that everything is imbued with a spirit. The indigenous people of Alaska include Inupiat, Yupik, Aleut, Inuit, Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian, Eyak, and a number of Northern Athabaskan cultures.
