Hail Kansas!

So here we are! Right in the middle of the country with Kansas. DC40 is very quiet and not letting us in on their failures or victories at this point. I'm a bit amazed that nothing has made the news. My only thought is around that fact that the climate is changing for these politicians that are grabbing the christian bible in one hand and our constitution in the other in the hopes of making them one document. The public is not going to stand for this. Our little Facebook group "What Makes Your State Great" and these blog posts are proof of that.

Tonight at 9:50 pm I'll be continuing with my weekly rituals for Columbia. For those interested, basically I just include a protection prayer/spell for the Goddess Columbia which for me represents our first amendment rights. A few other groups are doing this with me and if you'd like to join simply remember our freedoms in your own way, tonight at 9:50 in your own time zone. Our focused energy will be strong enough to provide a veil of protection over what we all hold dear, the freedom to worship or not to worship as we choose.

Now, let's get the love flowing and send out protective energies to the great state of Kansas!

The first African American woman to win an Academy Award was Kansan Hattie McDaniel. She won the award for her role in "Gone with the Wind."

Amelia Earhart, first woman granted a pilot's license by the National Aeronautics Associate and first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean was from Atchison.

Sumner County is known as The Wheat Capital of the World. The American Institute of Baking is located in Manhattan. In 1990 Kansas wheat farmers produced enough wheat to make 33 billion loaves of bread, or enough to provide each person on earth with 6 loaves. Kansas produced a record 492.2 million bushels of wheat in 1997, enough to make 35.9 billion loaves of bread.
