Hail Indiana!

Today we're heading out to the Midwest and sending protection to the great state of Indiana. DC40 is making its away around the country but so far they seem to be doing it very quietly. I have found no news or updates on their progress. We have lots going on to combat them though, have a look at the CapitalWitch.com's response!

Abraham Lincoln moved to Indiana when he was 7 years old. He lived most of his boyhood life in Spencer County with his parents Thomas and Nancy.

Johnny Gruelle of Indianapolis created the Raggedy Ann doll in 1914. His Daughter Marcella was very ill and he created stories about Raggedy Ann to keep her spirits up. She died in 1915 and her father when to work putting into writing all the stories he had told her.

More than 100 species of trees are native to Indiana. Before the pioneer's arrive more than 80% of Indiana was covered with forest. Now only 17% of the state is considered forested.

Many Mennonite and Amish live on the farmland of Northeastern Indiana. One of the United States largest Mennonite congregations is in Bern. According to Amish ordnung (rules) they are forbidden to drive cars, use electricity, or go to public places of entertainment.

Sarah Walker, who called herself Madame J.C. Walker, became one of the nation's first woman millionaires. In 1905 Sarah Breedlove McWilliams Walker developed a conditioning treatment for straightening hair. Starting with door-to-door sales of her cosmetics, Madame C.J. Walker amassed a fortune.

The Miami Indians (including the Wea)
The Shawnee Indians

The Battle of Tippecanoe was fought on November 7, 1811. The US troops were led by William Henry Harrison and Tecumseh of the American Indian Confederation with his younger brother Tenskwatawa. The American's defeated and destroyed Prophetstown.

I spent a great deal of time looking for a good video for today. There are so many out there that just confuse me. The comments range from I love your video, to how dare you post this about my people. In this learning process, I'm beginning to see that generally I'm going to find that some one will find something to not like about what I'm doing.

I'm hoping to highlight the positive things about our great nation. Going a step farther, even highlight the positive in our world. We are all earthlings. We all live here on this planet. The people, the animals. We are all living here together. We need to respect those others around us and try to remember that we are all here together.
